Richards Bay Airshow 2012

Richards Bay very nearly did not have an airshow...

The weather turned bad on Friday night and there was some worried faces at the airshow on Saturday morning as no aircraft had arrived. As most of the aircraft were coming down from Gauteng, the organisers were very worried that they would not make it through. However, at 9am, aircraft started arriving, those from Durban and PE arriving first. Next, the teams from Gauteng started arriving and the organisers now had big smiles...

The airshow turned out to be one of the better airshows - I think the relaxed atmosphere helped to make it so! Below are just some of the displays we saw, Nigel Hopkins providing RB with an awesome display that the people of the city will talk about for a long time.

My trusty Canon 5D2 and 300mm Canon lense provided the ideal combo to get the photos.
